Tesgo Hum-Pro 1000 display upgrade to a 986 LCD colorful display

Successfully replaced the YL80C display on my Hum-Pro with a 986 model like the Tesgo STT 1000w.
I told Tesgo what I wanted, and they prepared and sent me a 986 display that was easy to install, with the connector changed at the factory to fit on the control box cable.
Everything works perfectly, as does the cruise control now.
Thanks to Tesgo for this upgrade. Wow!

A good replacement for the standard HUM display

The display that comes with the TESGO HUM is a Yolin YL80C LCD Display for eBikes. While there's nothing wrong with this display, I prefer the LCD display that comes with the TESGO STT. This display is based on the Key-Disp KD986. It comes with a light sensor that will automatically turn the front headlight on when it gets dark enough, and has a female USB-A connector you can use to (very slowly) charge your phone. The settings menu is also in plain English, and is much easier to configure than the YL80C which uses code abbreviations for everything. It is pin compatible with the YL80C display, so you don't need to rewire the controller connector. However, you will need a short 6-inch 5-pin extension connector if you are replacing the HUM display, unless you want to wire it completely through the bike to the controller with the provided cable. I found short cables on ALI Express so swapping displays was quite easy. The Canadian site lists this as for the STT only, but it will work with the HUM.
